Team Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College And Bergen County Vo-Tech School Win Top Honors At National Web Design Competition 2005
The World Organization of Webmasters (WOW) announces that team Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College from Perkinston, MS won the Gold Medal award in the college division and Bergen County Vo-Tech from Montvale, NJ won the Gold Medal award in the high school division. The annual event was held in conjunction with the 2005 SkillsUSA National Champion event in Kansas City. MO.
The Web design competition challenged high school and college students to work in teams to build Web sites for a nonprofit agency. Participants documented their progress as they demonstrated their skills in Web Programming (HTML, XHTML and CSS), Web graphics, Web site design and usability, Web site management, project management, Web multimedia and legal issues.
A panel of experts selected from industry and the education Web professional community based their winning selection on the following criteria developed by WOW:
