2024 National Champions

We held our national web design and development competition iat the Georgia World Congress Center n Atlanta during the week of June 24 – 28. This marked the 21st consecutive year we have held this competition. We are most appreciative of those who made the trek to Georgia (including Steve Waddell, David Jackson, Bryce Hickson, Tammy Finch, and Na’im Salahuddin).

As we have done in recent years, this competition was entirely online. Competitors were provided with a server based coding environment. This year, they were able to meet the client in person and ask questions about the desired site. Competitors were encouraged to use font libraries (such as Google fonts) and were asked to provide an overview of their web development process and wireframes/ storyboards to practicing professionals from the Kansas City metro area. Competitors were interviewed separately by individuals from the Peoria (Illinois) area regarding why they should be hired as a team. We separate the business acumen questions from the process questions to develop a better picture of the capabilities of each team.

We offer congratulations to all teams. In order to compete in our national contest, each team has to win first place in their respective state competition. Therefore, all who are present are winners. Those who made the finals (gold, silver, and bronze) are listed below. We hold separate college/ post-secondary and high school competitions.

Congratulations again o all who participated. As we have done in the past few years, we were able to assist many states with their SkillsUSA web competitions (again providing the client assets and an online coding environment for those states). We are already updating our documentation and beginning to plan for the 2025 competition to be held again in Atlanta. We hope to see you there!
